Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book either Lilac Cottage or Beech Cottage. We look forward to welcoming you here, and we will do all we can to ensure that you have a happy and relaxing stay. However, when you make this booking and sign the booking form you are entering into an agreement with us, so please read our Terms and Conditions and Data Privacy Policy carefully before signing your booking form.

Before we can formally confirm a booking we need a completed Booking Form and a 25% deposit based on the full tariff for the period required (or the full amount if booking within 6 weeks of the start date of the holiday).

Booking online

You can now book online (click here for our Booking page), or personally with us.  When you book online you will receive an automated response confirming that you have made a provisional booking. Please note that your booking remains provisional until it has been confirmed by us personally, either by email or telephone.

Checking availability

Please first check availability on our website or with us personally, by telephone or email.

Provisional booking

Your online booking remains provisional until we confirm it. If you book by telephone with us we will take your name and address and contact details, then withdraw the dates from availability for up to seven days while we wait for your deposit payment and booking form to arrive.

Booking Form

Booking forms are emailed/posted to bookings made by email or telephone. Even if you have been several times already, it is important for our records to have a fresh form each time.

Deposit

The deposit for all bookings is 25% of the full tariff for the required dates in order to secure the booking. As soon as we receive your completed form and payment we will write to confirm your booking formally and send a receipt.

Final payment

The outstanding balance will be due six weeks (42 days) before the start of your holiday. When we receive your payment of the balance, we write again, sending you a receipt, directions how to get here, and some local information.

Booking within 6 weeks of the holiday start date

For holidays which are to take place within 6 weeks of making the booking, the full balance is due on booking.

Last minute availability

For a last minute booking, we would need a payment by card.

Payment

We accept cheques and Internet Banking transfers or credit/debit card payments. We can supply overseas visitors with our bank account BIC and IBAN details. Please note that the bank levies a fee on such transfers.

Looking After our Cottages

Caring for our cottages: Please look after our cottages. We take a great pride in them, and do all we can to keep them freshly decorated and generally spick and span. We give each cottage a meticulous clean after each and every guest, and it makes the job so much easier and pleasanter for us when it has been left clean and tidy, as it almost always is!

Damages and breakages: Please let us know if you have any breakages or other disaster as soon as they occur.

  • a) Minor breakages:You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its content. We do not normally charge for minor breakages.
  • b) Major breakages or damage: However, we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is, in our estimation, significant.

Liability

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Cancellation and Insurance

We strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, which we understand is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker. If it would help we can supply a leaflet about the Pavey Group UK Holiday Protection scheme.

The reason we recommend taking out cancellation insurance is that if for whatever reason you cannot take your holiday and the booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full, even if we have not yet received your balance.

However, we would do our very best to re-let the dates and if we do succeed we would not demand payment of the balance due (or will refund the - possibly discounted - sum we may be able to re-let the dates for, less a token £10 admin. fee if payment has already been made).

Please note that your deposit is not refundable.

Non-Availability of Accommodation

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday.

Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Privacy Policy

Data Privacy Statement: We treat any data collected during the course of making bookings or dealing with enquiries in strict confidence. This data is kept on our home computer. We will never pass it on to any third party, with the following minor exceptions which, if you wish, you may not allow.

  • As members of Premier Cottages we have agreed to supply to Premier Cottages Ltd the names and addresses of all guests booking with us during the previous year, in order that these guests may be sent a Premier Cottages brochure.
  • We also may refer a prospective client’s contact details to other Premier Cottage owners whom we know to have a vacancy when we are unable to fulfil a request for a certain date.

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE UNHAPPY WITH EITHER OR BOTH OF THESE POSSIBLE EXCEPTIONS at the time of booking. To do so, complete and return the booking form. Alternatively contact Kate Tomlinson on 01283 820012 or email enquiries@woodlandviews.co.uk
